Graduate Women in Science (GWISE) presents
Science Day at Dartmouth
Saturday, April 6, 10 am - 3 pm

Graduate students from Dartmouth College invite students in 6th-9th grade, with an accompanying adult, to visit our labs on campus, meet real scientists-in-training, and learn about a wide variety of fields of scientific research. Graduate students in the sciences will lead fun demonstrations and hands-on activities. Middle school students will get a chance to talk with real scientists, ask questions about their work and interests, and find out why they love what they do!
 
Mental Health Awareness Day
Monday, April 8, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Occom Commons
The GSC is hosting a mental health awareness event at Occom Commons from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Please drop by to get some friendly advice on how to manage the stress of grad student life. From 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm a mental health counselor from Dick's house will be present, with information about mental health resources on Campus. From 4:00 pm to 4:30ish there will be a meditation session (we advise that you bring a mat if possilbe). Finally, a limited number of free massages are given to grad students, by appointment only.
 
IGMP Grad Appreciation Monday Night Tea

Kick-off Grad Appreciation Week with some grad school-themed chocolates, desserts, and of course, all kinds of tea! Whether you're international or from the US, we welcome you to stop by for a break, anytime between 7 pm and 10 pm to relax, have some tea, and meet other grad students from all over the world. Contact Marie Onakomaiya or Marina Marchanka with questions or if you'd like to share a dessert!
 
Grad Student Teaching Assistant Appreciation Lunch

Graduate students who have been nominated by undergraduates for their teaching, either in a classroom or research setting, will be invited to lunch at DCAL. 
 
Graduate Poster Session
Wednesday, April 10, 5 pm - 7:30 pm
Alumni Hall
This annual forum allows graduate students to display and present their scholarly work to the Dartmouth community. Prizes awarded to the top four presenters.

DGOC Sunset Hike

The DGOC is planning a short (2 hour) sunset hike from campus on Friday, April 12th. We are planning to meet at 6 pm and leave at 6:15 pm. The hike is set for 15 people and will be led by Jim Peck and Gilbert Rahme. The trail we are following is on Balch Hill (http://www.dartmouth.edu/~doc/naturalareas/balchhill/). It is advisable to bring a flashlight or a headlamp for this hike.
 
Wine Tasting
