Visiting Professor of Government and former Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Rand Beers ’64, will chart the rise of criminal and social activist hackers, the introduction of intelligence collection in cyber space, and the growing understanding of the vulnerabilities of physical infrastructure and national economies to cyber-attack. Additionally, Professor Beers will cover social media interaction with the media, politics, and society in an attempt to better understand what happened in 2016 and our prospects for the future at home and abroad.
