Student Services

ID Cards

All graduate students will be issued ID cards, which are issued at the Dartmouth Card Office in the basement of McNutt, Room 4. The ID card serves as your official identification on campus, allowing you access to the stacks in the libraries, reduced rates for Hopkins Center events, and charge privileges in some locations on campus.

The Dartmouth College Library system is available throughout the year. Branch libraries specialize in specific subjects.

A student ID is required to borrow books or other materials from the library system. Renewals must be made in person at the circulation desk where the book was checked out.

Research Computing

Computational resources are available for high-performance and scientific computing, bioinformatic analysis, visualization, and data storage.

All students are assigned a box for receiving mail in their department. U.S. mail is picked up and delivered once a day — late morning usually. Inter-campus mail is picked up and delivered once each day. Your inter-campus mail box number is the same as your department.

The Hanover Post Office (643-4544) is at the corner of South Main Street and Lebanon Street. Post office hours.

Safety & Security

The Department of Safety and Security is responsible for the general policing and security of the College and responds to all College emergencies. They also provide emergency transportation for the sick and injured, assist students who are locked out, enforce College driving regulations, and house Dartmouth's lost and found.

The telephone number for Safety & Security is 646-4000.
