Marcella Lucas

Marcella is now the CEO of LeadWomen, a Malaysian grown enterprise which focuses on getting more women onto Board of Directors and into C-suite positions. Through her work at LeadWomen, Dr Marcella is re-innovating how to position women's leadership as a core strategic imperative for good, sustainable business performance. LeadWomen has developed from a training provider to now provide a One-Stop-Solution consultancy for high calibre candidates looking for board opportunities and for boards looking for the right talent to meet their business needs.

Marcella has co-created and delivered numerous trainings, workshops and conferences in the women's leadership and women on boards space encompassing topics such as inclusion & diversity, mindful and purpose-driven leadership, self-aware leadership, unconscious bias, women on boards, workplace harassment, board culture and inclusivity. She regularly speaks at conferences and sits on the Steering Committee and is the Research Lead of the 30% Club Malaysia.

She is a founding member of the Leadership Team and Lead for Workstream 3 (Supporting Women in Leadership) in Malaysia Women in Energy (MyWIE). She is an Associate Faculty at the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia and Associate Fellow at the Institute for Leadership Innovation and Change (Lead4Change) at University Utara Malaysia. Marcella was recently appointed as a member of the Merdeka Award Nomination Committee.

Marcella obtained her PhD in Neuroscience from Dartmouth College, USA and BSc Biochemistry from the University of Bath, UK and is originally from the Netherlands
