Our Research and Curriculum
Our research groups conduct studies that span the gamut of scales and systems: from genes to ecosystems, microscopic to global, terrestrial to aquatic, and contemporary to deep evolutionary time. Regardless of study systems, we exchange ideas in discussion groups and seminars that focus on the unifying theories of ecology and evolution and their applications. Students interested in this sphere will learn to generate new knowledge regarding the nature of nature through hypothetico-deductive research techniques that include observations, experiments, bioinformatics, statistics, computation, and modeling.
