I am interested in studying the water politics of transboundary rivers in South and Southeast Asia. I find the complexities of freshwater landscapes or riverscapes intriguing, especially the relationships between people and rivers and the power dynamics associated with the flow of water. I am especially curious to find out how human development alter river ecosystems especially through damming and flow regulation and vice versa. My previous work focused on the water politics of the Ganges river.
