A free screening of the new Leonardo DiCaprio documentary about global warming. Discussion follows Dartmouth faculty and students
Leonardo DiCaprio, a United Nations Messenger of Peace, traverses the Earth on a show-and-tell mission to see what is and isn’t being done to reverse the consequences of man-made global warming. Covering the Canadian tar sands and the wilderness set of The Revenant to the smog-choked streets of Shanghai, and featuring interviews with President Obama and Pope Francis, this gorgeously shot documentary has an undeniable urgency and sincere call to action. D: Fisher Stevens, US, 2016, 96m
Following the film there will be a panel discussion with Professor Erich Osterberg, earth sciences; Anne Kapuscinski, environmental studies; Lauren Culler, environmental studies and the Institute of Arctic Studies at the Dickey Center; and Victor Cabrera '19.
