Master's and PhD students must complete a minimum number of classes to be eligible for their degrees.
Master's degree candidates must receive credit for at least eight graduate courses as a prerequisite to the degree. These courses may be replaced in part by research or by special study approved and supervised by the department, provided that no more than four of the required courses are replaced in this way.
Course requirements for the Ph.D. are established by the individual departments.
