Steven Tau was awarded a competitive Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral National Research Service Award (F31) from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). In a banner year, four MCB students have received recognition from the competitive and prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP). The NSF GRFP supports the graduate research of students who have demonstrated potential to contribute significantly to the future of STEM research, teaching, and innovation across STEM fields. Beatriz Mercado, Grace Rosner, and Elora Greiner were selected for NSF GRFP awards and Samantha Liu has earned an Honorable Mention.

The Guarini Diversity Award is designed to recognize outstanding leadership and determined efforts by graduate students in addressing and raising awareness about issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion across campus and in our community. Departments, individual faculty members or administrators, and graduate students are eligible to propose a recipient in the form of a letter of nomination.
