Alexandrea Turnquist

Alex spent her undergraduate career working in the Sanger Lab at Loyola University Chicago where she studied evolutionary development of lizards in response to climate change. There she was recipient of the 2 Year Biology Fellowship and coauthored "Environmental thermal stress induces neuronal cell death and developmental malformations in reptiles" After graduating in 2021, she came straight to Dartmouth with an interest in cancer immunology. She now works in the Usherwood Lab and focuses on manipulating metabolic pathways in T cells to make more robust solid tumor immunotherapies. Alex loves working with her undergraduate student in the lab and having a collaborative community here at Dartmouth to brainstorm science with. In her free time, Alex hangs out with her two cats, hikes, and frequents the Norwich farmer's market.
