Galini Poimenidou

Kettenbach lab

Originally from Thessaloniki, Greece, Galini graduated Lawrence University with degrees in Biochemistry and Economics in 2020. As an undergrad she spent a summer with the Cramer lab at Dartmouth College studying the antifungal properties of β-blockers against Aspergillus fumigatus and Fusarium solani ocular infections. Galini's research in the Kettenbach lab focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of PP1 holoenzyme assembly through mass spectrometry based proteomics. Outside of lab, Galini is involved in the Graduate Student Council and is a co-chair of GWiSE (Graduate Women in Science and Engineering). In her free time she enjoys the outdoors, travelling and a good book.
