Evan Bennett

I was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in New Hampshire. I studied biology at Franklin Pierce University, where most of my work focused on C. elegans and bacteriophages, both in the lab and through bioinformatics. During undergrad, I did three summers of the iSURF internship at Dartmouth—my first year was remote because of COVID, my second year I worked at Mascoma LLC, and my third year I joined Josh Obar's lab. After graduating, I went back to Mascoma LLC, this time as a metabolic engineer, where I worked with S. cerevisiae to develop novel compounds in corn mash fermentations as alternatives to petroleum-derived products.
