Nicole Hoenes

Nicole is from Castleton, Vermont and graduated from The University of Vermont with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. After graduation, she took a job at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine helping to run oncology clinical trials. Finding an interest in Cancer Biology, she then moved back to New England and joined Dr. Prerna Malaney's lab at Dartmouth. There, she investigated a colorectal cancer-associated hotspot mutation in the RNA-binding protein PCBP1. In the Dartmouth MCB program, she intends to continue studying molecular mechanisms that drive disease. Outside of the lab, her interests include hiking, mountain biking, running, and candle making.
