Amy Kennedy

Mierke and Pellegrini lab

Amy obtained her Bachelor's in Chemistry with a minor in Biology at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2018, following an Associate's in Psychology from Murray State College in 2009. As a graduate student in the Biochemistry and Cellular Biology track of MCB, she works in the lab of Dale Mierke and Maria Pellegrini pursuing a structure-based drug discovery campaign on the structural coiled-coil protein NEMO. Amy uses X-ray protein crystallography, fluorescence anisotropy, and other biophysical and biochemical methods to assess the binding affinity, location, and mechanism of small molecule fragments and peptides to NEMO's IKK binding domain. She is also a PhD Innovation Fellow. In her free time, Amy enjoys hiking, yoga, cooking, baking, various creative projects, and spending time with her four cats and sons, Davian and Aiden.
