Julia Lockart

Julia received her Bachelor's in Biology and Philosophy from Suffolk University in 2022. Her undergraduate work focused on bacterial egress of Streptococcus pyogenes and RpoS translation in Escherichia coli. Post-grad she began working at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in the Infectious Disease and Microbiome Program. Her work has been largely focused on the function of Plasmalogens in bacteria and the study and culturing of the microbiome. She is interested in pursuing research related to host-microbe interactions. Outside of the lab, she loves reading, playing video games, and snowboarding as well as spending time with her dog and cat or gazing at the stars.
