A Florida native, Justine earned a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Religious Studies from Stetson University. She has pursued a wide range of research, from studying plant-derived compounds' effects on chronic disease to identifying novel secondary hosts for an invasive lungworm in Florida reptiles, and using genetic tools to probe cell signaling in Drosophila. These experiences fueled her fascination with the intricate mechanisms of cell biology. Outside the lab, she enjoys cooking, reading thrillers, and spending time with her dog and parrot.
