As Assistant Program Director, Kelly supports the Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program's administration, recruitment, and outreach. She is a resource for students as they navigate their Ph.D., life at Dartmouth, and career trajectory.
Kelly is an alum of the MCB Graduate Program and completed her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology in 2018. Her research was in the lab of Dr. Duane Compton where she studied the role of condensins in chromosome movement and segregation into daughter cells during mitosis. While at Dartmouth, she was on the MCB Graduate Committee, an organizer for Science Day at Dartmouth, and an instructor for middle and high school groups visiting Dartmouth to learn about microscopy. In between her roles in MCB, Kelly was a Senior Scientist with the New Hampshire Academy of Science, a non-profit focused on enabling middle and high school students to conduct scientific research and communicate their findings to the broader community. With the NHAS, Kelly led summer programs, after-school programs, professional development for teachers, and outreach to local schools.
Kelly enjoys kayaking, hiking, and snowshoeing to enjoy the outdoors around NH and VT. Inside, she likes sewing and trying new baking and cooking recipes as well as making old favorites.
