I was born in Tingo Maria (Peru), a city surrounded by mountains with the appearance of sleeping beauty. I received my bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Peru), and defended my thesis, done at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (Peru), in 2020. Then, I completed my master's studies in Biology at Heinrich Heine Universitat Dusseldorf (Germany, 2020-2022).

I am interested in understanding how human cells control the quality of mature tRNAs and how their dysregulation is related to some diseases. I would like to discover the proteins responsible for the regulation of hypomodified tRNAs, and understand their mechanism of action.

In my free time, I help Peruvian students through the programs "Serendipity mentorship in science" and "Research Experience for Peruvian Undergraduates (REPU)". I like to volunteer in groups related to science and technology, mentoring, and climate change. In addition, I love playing basketball, volleyball, videogames, and music (percussion and bass guitar).
