Maria received her BSc in Cell and Tissue Engineering from Northeastern University in 2022. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at Sigilon Therapeutics, focusing on vector optimization and enzymatic characterization to support the development of cell therapies for Hemophilia B and Fabry disease. The following year she interned on the Platform Immunology team at Moderna, researching the immunomodulatory properties of the mRNA/LNP platform. After graduating, she returnedf to Moderna on their Translational Immunology team, profiling cellular responses to infectious disease vaccine candidates, particularly focusing on T cell effector functions, differentiation, activation, memory, and homing signatures. Maria is interested in the computational immunology space, hoping to contribute to biomarker discovery and generation of immunotherapies for solid tumor cancers. Beyond science, Maria enjoys skiing, running, cooking, and playing bananagrams.
