Simon is originally from northern Switzerland where he completed his studies in human medicine at Zurich Medical School, followed by postgraduate research in immunology at the University of Zurich/University Hospital Zurich (UZH/USZ). During the pandemic, he worked as a resident doctor in Public Health and served as an on-site medical lead of multiple vaccination centers. Subsequently, he moved to the UK to expand his knowledge and research skills by studying thrombus formation and leukocyte recruitment to arterial thrombi. Reading biological science as a member of Corpus Christi College at the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Cambridge cemented his decision to continue following his passion for addressing pressing health issues through basic biomedical research and undertake more exciting, cutting-edge research by joining Dartmouth's rich reserach landscape. Outside the lab, Simon enjoys leisurely strolls through botanic gardens and museums, reading a good book in the park, doing sports, attending classical concerts, and catching up with friends from med school at self-organized brunches or while discovering new restaurants.
