Application Requirements

All application materials must be submitted directly through the online application system. We do not accept paper application materials. Official transcripts should not be sent to the Guarini School office during the application process.

English Language Proficiency 

  • Non-U.S. citizens are required to submit language proficiency test scores, with the exception of those who have earned, or are currently earning, an undergraduate (bachelor's degree or equivalent) or higher degree after having studied for at least four years at an institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, or New Zealand where English was the sole primary language of instruction.
  • We accept TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo 
  • The ETS code for the Guarini School is 3351

Personal Statements

The MET provides an intensive, multidisciplinary, small-cohort experience.  Please write a brief essay explaining how the MET will equip you to achieve your goals as a future energy/climate professional. Use the following prompts as a guide to answering this question in no more than 1000 words.

  • What is distinctive about the MET that will contribute to your career aspirations?
  • What personal educational/professional areas of growth do you believe the MET may help you address and contribute to your work in accelerating the energy transition?
  • Reflect on an educational or professional experience. How has it contributed to the early stages of your development or aspirations for working in the climate and energy space?

Recommendation Letters

  • 3 required, up to 4 accepted. If you are within 5 years of completing your undergraduate degree, we would expect at least two references to come from undergraduate instructors. References should speak to your ability to handle a rigorous academic workload and should reflect substantial academic, professional, and/or civic (e.g. volunteering) responsibilities or work.

Transcripts

  • Your most recent unofficial transcripts should be uploaded as part of your application. Official transcripts are not needed during the application process.

Financial Aid

When you fill out your graduate program application, please indicate if you are considering applying for financial aid. Applying for aid will not affect your admissions process or commit you to anything, but it's important for us to know as soon as possible if you might be interested in financial aid.

If you are, be sure to fill out the CSS Profile (Dartmouth CSS Code: 3351).

Indicate your year in college as "1st-year grad/prof."

CSS should be submitted at the same time as your graduate application.

Enrollment Deposit

A non-refundable $500 enrollment deposit is required upon acceptance of an admission offer.
