The Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies marked its annual Graduate Student Appreciation Week with a full slate of events recognizing the contributions of graduate students and postdocs to the Dartmouth community.
The week kicked off Monday, April 7, with the announcement of the new GuariniGRAD initiative, including the launch of a new website that serves as a one-stop hub for graduate and postdoctoral resources. Events throughout the week were designed to foster connection and highlight the diverse talents of Dartmouth's graduate community, beginning with a discounted lunch at 53 Commons.
Tuesday brought a morning coffee break at Ramekin Café, encouraging students to invite faculty mentors for informal chats over complimentary drinks. Later, students took in panoramic campus views during guided Baker Tower tours.
The week's signature event, the Guarini Graduate Student Poster Session, was held Wednesday evening at the Hanover Inn. Around 150 attendees explored research across disciplines, as 30 graduate students presented their work. Awards were given for top posters, showcasing the innovation and rigor of Dartmouth's graduate scholarship. Read more about the event and the award winners.
On Thursday, the Guarini School hosted an invite-only luncheon honoring Outstanding Graduate Student Teacher nominees, followed by an evening mixer at Ramunto's Pizza hosted by Guarini community fellows.
The celebration wrapped up Friday with a tour of the Harold Edward Cable Makerspace, a coffee and cookie break at Dartmouth Health, and a creative "grounding event" in Guarini Commons featuring rock painting, plant potting, and snacks.
Together, the week's events offered a meaningful expression of gratitude for the vital contributions graduate students make to research, teaching, and campus life at Dartmouth.
