About the Guarini School

Advancing Research and Graduate Education

The Frank J. Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies sits at the center of Dartmouth's research enterprise. Our interdisciplinary emphasis brings together graduate students and postdoctoral scholars across disciplines and provides supports as they drive discovery, teach and mentor undergraduates, and extend Dartmouth's impact around the world.

Graduate education has been part of Dartmouth's mission since its first advanced degree was awarded in 1865. The establishment of the Guarini School in 2016, which was Dartmouth's first new school in more than 150 years, reflects Dartmouth's commitment to research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the preparation of its students and postdocs for global leadership.

Mission

Our mission is to foster postgraduate academic programs of the highest quality, catalyze intellectual discovery, and prepare a diverse community of scholars for global leadership.
