Annually, we come together to honor the hard work and accomplishments of our graduate students and to express our gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the Dartmouth community. A variety of exciting events are planned for this week, so if you know a graduate student, take the opportunity to go the extra mile and show your appreciation!

Monday, April 6, 2026

  • Crafts and Coffee, 10-11 a.m., Guarini Commons, Start your morning right with a relaxing crafting event with coffee and other refreshments. Guarini and MALS will provide some note cards, rocks for painting, and various other crafting materials. Feel free to bring your own project that you're working on! Sign up.
  • Baker Tower Tours, 12-12:30 p.m. and 3-3:30 p.m., Info Desk at Baker Main Lobby. See things from a different perspective at one of the highest points on campus. Reaching the Bell Tower cat-walk requires climbing several flights of stairs including a "ladder-like" stair for the last 20 feet. Climbing the stairs and walking outside on the cat-walk may be physically demanding and difficult for any person uncomfortable with heights.

  • Breakfast with Campus & Community Life, Panel from 9-10 a.m., Breakfast from 8:30 -10:30 a.m., Class of '53 Commons. Start your morning with Community and Campus Life leadership and discover the people, programs, and resources dedicated to supporting graduate students. This panel conversation will introduce key services, answer your questions, and open doors for deeper engagement. Breakfast will be provided with the presentation of your Dartmouth ID at the door! No sign up required.
  • Book Arts Drop-in Card Making, 2-4 p.m., Baker-Berry Library Book Arts. Join Dartmouth Book Arts for a relaxed, drop‑in card‑making session. We'll provide pre‑printed and blank cards plus stamps, markers, paints, typewriters and other craft supplies for you to decorate however you like. Sign up.
  • Navigating Academic Writing: Strategies for Multilingual Writers, 4-5 p.m., Collis 101, Learn strategies to help you use all your language resources as you move through the writing process. You will reflect on your experiences with academic writing, learn writing strategies, and practice using these strategies. Participants should bring an assignment for a class, personal statement, application, or independent writing project, and be ready to write! Whether you just received an assignment, are still brainstorming, or have a full draft, all are welcome to attend! Sign up.

  • Coffee with Faculty Advisor/Mentor, 9-10 a.m., Ramekin Cafe. Invite your faculty advisor or a mentor for coffee and conversation at Ramekin Café in Anonymous Hall. Sign up, then reach out to your advisor to schedule a time to meet. A limited number of $6 ticket pairs are available (one for you and one for your faculty guest). Pick up your two tickets during coffee break hours at the Guarini Office in Anonymous Hall. Sign up.
  • Greenhouse Tour, 12-12:30 p.m., Life Sciences Center Greenhouse. Romanticize your day and explore a charming greenhouse sanctuary with fellow graduate students in the Life Sciences Center! Sign up.
  • Sip & Study, 3-4 p.m., Guarini Commons, Anonymous Hall, Enjoy a cozy coffee shop environment in the Guarini Commons with free snacks, warm drinks, and great company! Bring your study materials or just come hang out! Thanks to the GSC Academic Chair for co-hosting this event. Sign up.

  • Professor Janice McCabe Talks About Making Friends, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Anonymous Hall 113. Join Professor Janice McCabe to talk about her research on the importance of friendship over lunch. Dr. Janice McCabe is an associate professor of sociology and the Allen House Professor at Dartmouth College. She teaches courses on the sociology of education, youth, gender, social problems, and research methods at Dartmouth. Sign up.
  • Tea Tasting and Succulent Planting, 2-3 p.m., Guarini Commons, Anonymous Hall. Join Kate Hesser, SVP of Advancement and tea sommelier, for a relaxed session on brewing the perfect cup of tea—covering water temperature, steeping time, and leaf-to-water ratios—followed by succulent planting to take home, with all supplies and a free Guarini ceramic or travel mug included (space is limited). Sign up.
  • Ramunto's Brick and Brew Graduate Student Mixer, 8-10 p.m., Ramunto's. Join us for a fun and relaxed evening at Ramunto's Brick & Brew Pizzeria! Enjoy pizza along with a selection of beer and non-alcoholic drinks, including soda, seltzers, and juices. No sign up required.

  • Hood Makerspace, 2-3 p.m., Hood Museum of Art. Graduate students, give yourself a break with a self-guided crafting activity in the atrium. Materials provided. No experience necessary - just bring your creative side! Light refreshments provided by Guarini. Sign up.
