Carrie Hoverman Colla '01 is a health economist whose research examines physician payment, health insurance markets, and delivery-system reform, with a focus on improving the quality, accessibility, and cost of health care. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and was elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2025. Colla previously directed the Division of Health Analysis at the Congressional Budget Office and was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow. A 2001 Dartmouth graduate, she earned her MA and PhD in health policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and has taught in Dartmouth's graduate programs for 15 years.
