Joan Guitart, MD, is a Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.  In addition, he is Director of the Dermatopathology Unit and the multidisciplinary Cutaneous Lymphoma Clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Guitart's research interests relate to the clinical and pathologic aspects of cutaneous lymphomas.  Currently, he is studying several areas in the field of lymphomas and pathology including rare subsets of cutaneous lymphomas, epidemiologic and molecular immunology studies of lymphomas and therapeutic use of various biologic response modifiers in CTCL.  Additional interests include photodermatoses and skin carcinogenesis.  He is internationally known for his expertise in CTCL. He has published nearly 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, largely focused on CTCL and pathologic observations in skin tissue.
