2019 Mental Health Awareness Month Event Listing
The Graduate Student Council, in partnership with the School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, has created a month long program to raise awareness of graduate student mental health.
Mental health is a huge part of grad life and we have events of all types to help inform, relax, and bring fun to all grad students this month. All events are free and open to the graduate students and postdoc community.

Reaching the Bell Tower cat-walk requires climbing several flights of stairs including a “ladder-like” stair for the last 20 feet. Climbing the stairs and walking outside on the cat-walk may be physically demanding and difficult for any person uncomfortable with heights.
Contemplative Teaching & Learning

Mindfulness practices benefit cognition, emotion, and creativity. After reviewing the contemplative pedagogy movement in higher education, participants will experience two short classroom mindfulness practices designed to cultivate attention, creativity, and deep engagement; consider the research supporting them; and discuss how implementing them might look in various classrooms. This session is part of GRAD Mental Health Awareness Month! Lunch included.
