Dartmouth Celebrates Graduate Appreciation Week

Dartmouth graduate students serve a variety of roles on campus, from teaching assistants to collaborators in the high level of academic research being done at Dartmouth. Graduate Appreciation Week, which will take place May 2 to 7, features activities to both raise awareness of and celebrate the academic contributions that graduate students provide to the Dartmouth community.

Events include a Graduate Poster Session highlighting graduate student research, on May 2, 2011, at the Top of the Hop. On May 5, the documentary film Naturally Obsessed: The Making of a Scientist, which depicts the lives of graduate students from Columbia University in their quest to complete their PhDs, will be shown at 7 p.m. in Rockefeller 1. The screening is free and open to the public and will be followed by a discussion and reception with one of the film's subjects, Dr. Robert Townley.

Graduate Appreciation week is sponsored by the Graduate Student Council and the Graduate Studies Office. For more information, see the Graduate Student Forum.
