Dylan Green Honored with 2024 Guarini Graduate Teaching Award

Dylan Green, Phd '24 in mathematics, has won the 2024 Guarini Graduate Teaching Award. The award recognizes the efforts and dedication of a graduate teaching assistant who demonstrates excellence in their role as an educator.

From Hendersonville, Tennessee, Dylan earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics and physics from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. A fifth year doctoral student in mathematics,  Dylan's research interests are in computational and statistical inverse problems, with a particular focus on developing tools for image reconstruction and uncertainty quantification.

Dylan credits his passion for teaching to the inspirational role models he had during his own education at Trevecca Nazarene University, and the pedagogical training and mentorship he received at Dartmouth that further shaped his approach to teaching.

"My favorite part about teaching is seeing my students grow and succeed," Dylan says. "College courses are tough, especially math classes, and I love engaging with students both in class and during office hours. Watching them develop their own understanding of the material is incredibly rewarding."

Congratulations to Dylan Green, the 2024 Guarini Teaching Award recipient, for his outstanding dedication to teaching and his significant contributions to the Dartmouth community.
