The Guarini School Launches New Initiative to Support Graduate Students and Postdocs

The Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies has launched GuariniGRAD, a new initiative designed to support the academic, career, professional, and personal development of Dartmouth's graduate students and postdocs.

Unveiled during Graduate Student Appreciation Week, GuariniGRAD reflects Dartmouth's growing investment in graduate education and postdoctoral training. The endeavor brings together existing campus resources into a centralized, accessible platform while also expanding opportunities for connection, mentorship, and career exploration.

"GuariniGRAD is about investing in our students and postdocs—not just in their research and scholarship, but in their well-being and future careers," said Jon Kull, Dean of the Guarini School. "We've built this initiative in response to student and postdoc feedback and will continue to evolve it alongside the needs of our community."

Phase one of GuariniGRAD features a new website that serves as a one-stop hub for graduate and postdoctoral resources. From academic support and career development to wellness and community-building, the site helps users find the tools and guidance they need to thrive. The site also highlights key staff contacts and programs across campus that play a role in graduate success.

Phase two will focus on expanding alumni engagement, offering new mentorship networks, internship pathways, and career connections for graduate students and postdocs.

The initiative was made possible through the generous support of President Sian Beilock, whose commitment to research and holistic student success has shaped the project's vision. "President Beilock has been a strong advocate for enhancing the graduate and postdoc experience at Dartmouth," said Kull. "Her support has helped us build a strong foundation for GuariniGRAD."

GuariniGRAD was announced during Graduate Student Appreciation Week to emphasize and highlight Dartmouth's appreciation for the Guarini community. "GuariniGRAD is also about making sure our students and postdocs feel supported, connected, and seen," Kull said.
