Pilobolus was founded fifty years ago by non-dancers and Dartmouth alums who believed that everyone can connect with their bodies and access creativity through movement. Since its beginnings in a Dartmouth dance course taught by Alison Chase, the company has tested the limits of human physicality and sparked innovation in the field of dance through interdisciplinary collaborations, national and global touring and commercial works.

In honor of Pilobolus's 50th anniversary and of the Class of '71, which bears the company's founders Moses Pendleton, Jonathan Wolken and Steven Johnson, we invite members of the Dartmouth community to a special Connecting with Balance class. This progressive exercise program created by Pilobolus is based on a half-century of techniques that playfully investigates and increases your body's capacity for mobility, stability and expression. The company's Education Director, Emily Kent facilitates this 1-hour workshop of grounding exercises that cultivate physical awareness, which can be woven into everyday life.
