The Dartmouth Graduate Student Council (GSC) represents all graduate students from the Frank J. Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, Thayer School of Engineering, and The Dartmouth Institute. We consist of elected representatives from each department in these schools and meet each month to make decisions on how to create a better community for graduate students at Dartmouth.

Arriving on campus from overseas international graduate students are helped enormously by mentors from the International Graduate Mentor Program, which is set up to provide students with support as they transition to life at Dartmouth. They plan events throughout the year, which you can keep up with by following the IGMP Facebook page. This year, two new leaders take the helm and we asked them a few questions about their academic background, and their international experience.

The Graduate Teaching Award is awarded annually to the graduate Teaching Assistant who best exemplifies the qualities of a college educator. The recipient of the 2018 Award is Christopher Carroll.

Earlier this year, the Graduate Student Council (GSC) launched the GSC Blog to encourage more graduate students to express their views. While the Guarini School encourages and supports students who are looking to develop science communication skills by publishing students’ writing, the GSC Blog offers a more casual platform for students’ work.
