Shinchiro Fuse, PhD, was one of the three alumni speakers at the Life Science Symposium. He received his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the School of Graduate and Advanced Studies at Dartmouth in 2008. He spoke to gathering about how his PhD contributed to his success in the business world and offered seven key tips for students considering a transition from academia into industry.

Nicholas Graham is passionate about building and sustaining communities. He attended Dartmouth College from 2012 to 2015, where he received a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies. During his time at Dartmouth, he served as Communications Coordinator for the Office of Graduate Studies and performed in music ensembles and competitions on campus, earning Grand Prize in the 2014 and 2015 Culley Concerto Competition. Nicholas wrote his thesis on the adaptation of instrumental performers to advancements in digital technology.

Bradley DeMay, PhD, is a Vice President at The Beacon Group and is a School of Graduate and Advanced Studies representative on the Dartmouth Alumni Council. DeMay, who is originally from Clayton, New York, became a Dartmouth alumni in 2011 when he finished his PhD in the biological sciences. However, because he was the first student admitted to the PhD/MBA dual-degree program at Dartmouth, he continued his academic tenure at the Tuck School of Business. He graduated from Tuck in 2013.
