The third annual Celebration of Biomedical Research at Dartmouth (CBRaD) is being held Thursday, October 26 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm on the second floor of the Life Sciences Center. CBRaD is an event that brings together scientific research from all graduate programs at Dartmouth and creates a unique environment of diversity that aims to support collaborative research efforts.

Bradley DeMay, PhD, is a Vice President at The Beacon Group and is a School of Graduate and Advanced Studies representative on the Dartmouth Alumni Council. DeMay, who is originally from Clayton, New York, became a Dartmouth alumni in 2011 when he finished his PhD in the biological sciences. However, because he was the first student admitted to the PhD/MBA dual-degree program at Dartmouth, he continued his academic tenure at the Tuck School of Business. He graduated from Tuck in 2013.

Arsenic is a metalloid, with both metal and non-metal properties, and notorious as the almost perfect murder weapon featured in works of fiction including Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy, and Flaubert’s Madame Bovary. It’s a natural component of bedrock, but certain pesticides used in the past have added arsenic to some areas.

Zinc is a micronutrient that plays diverse roles in cellular biochemistry. It is utilized by a number of proteins, serving either a catalytic or a structural role. Zinc is critical to over three hundred enzymes and thus, essential for all forms of life.
