Recruit Dartmouth Graduate Students

The typical graduate program is a small, personalized unit of faculty and students. Close research collaboration and instruction at the seminar level predominate. Dartmouth has made important changes in order that graduate students avoid over-specialization and develop a general competence in several areas within the discipline before proceeding to thesis research.

Dartmouth graduate students are enrolled in 16 doctorate programs and 11 masters programs.

They develop skills in the following areas:

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Framing and solving problems
  • Quick learning
  • Computer skills
  • Collaborative work
  • Teaching and presenting
