Application Fee & Waiver Information
All programs have an application fee. Please visit the relevant program page for details. Application fees are non-refundable.
Please pay this fee before submitting your application through the online application platform. The fee must be paid, or a fee waiver must be granted, before your application is reviewed. If you fail to pay the application fee or meet the criteria for a fee waiver your application will not be considered for admission. Please note: You must meet the criteria before submitting your application. Fees cannot be waived retroactively.
Application Fee Waivers
Some applicants may be eligible for a fee waiver based on the eligibility requirements listed below. US citizens, permanent residents, and non-US citizens are all eligible for our fee waiver criteria. Approved fee waiver criteria are listed below.
Fee waivers may be granted on the basis of:
• Current Dartmouth Students
• U.S. Military Veterans/ VA Benefit Eligible
• Attendance at a Dartmouth Graduate Recruiting Event
• Students receiving a GRE fee reduction voucher (additional documentation required, see instructions below)
• Affiliation with any of the following programs:
- GEM National Consortium
- Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP)
- McNair Scholar Program
- Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowships
- Meyerhoff Scholars Program
- Millennium Scholars Program
If you meet the qualifications for one of the categories listed above, there is no need to complete an additional fee waiver form as the information is collected within the graduate application.
If you do not meet any of the fee waiver criteria above, you will not be granted an application fee waiver. Application fees must be paid for an application to be considered complete and to undergo the review process. Paid application fees will not be refunded.
GRE Fee Reduction Waivers
ETS offers GRE Fee Reduction Vouchers for individuals meeting certain criteria, primarily based on financial need or underrepresented groups. Vouchers are only available for US citizens and permanent residents. Full details about the GRE Fee Reduction Program are available from ETS.
Within the graduate application you will find a link to request an application fee waiver based on your GRE fee reduction. You will be required to upload a PDF of the email you received from ETS with your GRE fee reduction code. Please make sure you start your graduate application with enough time to request the waiver.
Your request for a waiver and documentation will be reviewed by the Guarini School. Once you have submitted your documentation for the fee waiver request, you will receive an email within 4 business days indicating whether you have been granted a waiver. A request for the fee waiver should be submitted at least one week before the application deadline for your program.
Do not submit your application until you have received notice from Guarini staff about your waiver.
If you are not granted a fee waiver, you will need to pay the application fee when you submit your application. Please note: You must meet the criteria before submitting your application. Fees cannot be waived retroactively.
